Goals

The 8th Symposium on the Gems and Minerals of Afghanistan will review the historic and updated knowledge of the gem and mineral deposits, current mining techniques, and equipment. The symposium goal is to develop a practical guide for future research, mining and marketing of the gems and minerals of Afghanistan. This will provide employment, foreign currency and tax revenue to the people and government of Afghanistan.

To develop information and to form an advisory team to assist in the development of geological surveys, exploration and training programs for the advancement of the Afghanistan gem and mineral industry.
