The Hawaii Kai Rotary Club in Honolulu, Hawaii is now collecting funds for the next distribution of school supplies to schools in the mountain areas of Afghanistan. The distribution will take place from September 3rd to 16th. The number of villages supplied will depend on the total amount of funds available. The team will attempt to do our best to balance the distribution between different tribal groups and boys classes and girls classes within the tribes. This will be the fifth year of this Afghanistan school supply program.
Rotary 2007-2010 Afghanistan School Supply Project
The Rotary Club of East Honolulu sponsored the first two distributions of school supplies in Afghanistan before the Hawaii Kai Club assumed the project. We now purchase and delivery school supplies to children in the mountain villages of Khenj, Dest-E-Rewat, Jegdalek, Sorobi and Dagary, Afghanistan. Other Rotary Clubs and private donors are invited to join our efforts.
All donations are tax deductible and will be really appreciated! Just one dollar will purchase more than 25 pens! (See Detailed report on the 2008 distribution).
